Downton Abbey fans, read this. You’ll recognize author Julian Fellowes from the show. Like Downton, there are a ton of characters, upstairs/downstairs drama, and way more sassy behaviors than one would think possible in the great old houses of England.
The story begins in Brussels the night before Waterloo, the famous battle that was Napoleon’s doom. A dance, a forbidden romance, and the loss of many young gentleman to war. 25 years later, what happened that night affects all involved. Including: an illegitimate child, an adulterous affair, a secret identity, new money vs old money, and murderous intentions.
This book isn’t at the IHS library, but you could get it from the public library. YA fans of the show will love it.
